Fish Tales Fund Raising

A Fund-raising Play in Aid of the Cape Breton Regional Library
Synopsis
Reprising their roles from the award winning play O Night Divine, three generations of Italian women from Sydney find themselves embroiled in another family mix-up. This time the women are tasked with disposing of a rather unique family inheritance on, of all times, Mother’s Day Weekend, and not everyone is in agreement on how things should be done. Starring the original cast of O Night Divine; Josie Sobol, MauraLea Morykot and Danielle MacKinnon, with special guest appearance of Frank MacKenzie as the auctioneer. Written by Paul MacDougall and Ken Chisholm. Directed by Ken Chisholm.
Art Auction
The Fish Tales art works are a unique collection of wooden fish by Cape Breton artists and wood workers. Each artist was given a two-foot long wooden fish and asked to work their magic on it. The only condition they were given was that the final art work must retain the shape of a fish. Each fish is original as can be seen in the pieces received to date which are shown below. Pictures of new art works will be added to this site as they are received. All the original works of art can be viewed at the McConnell Library in Sydney on May 9, 10, 11. All art works will be auctioned off during the play on May 12. Proceeds from Fish Tales go toward programs and materials for the Cape Breton Regional Library.
